Inbodied
A Somatic Breath & Meditation Workshop
Sunday 6th October 2024
4.30 pm - 6.00pm
The Link, Hamilton East
This workshop is for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of somatic breath and meditation in attempts to support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. By using somatic breath and meditation tools, you will be strengthening your relationship to sensations in your body. Your mind and thoughts are a reflection of what is held in your soma (a.k.a your body) which is controlled by your nervous system. Sensing into your internal environment is the first step to re-patterning your nervous system to a place that is conducive to more clarity in the mind, peace, compassion toward yourself and others, resilience, and choice.
Many of us live our life in our heads being ruled by thoughts, stories, and old narratives. This was me for so long; I truly believed that I (and my quality as a person) was what I thought in my mind. And what a relief and complete liberation it was to find that this was not the case at all! If anything the complete opposite. This knowledge, together with applying tools such as somatic breathing, mindfulness meditation, and getting good at understanding how my body reacts to triggers, has had a profound effect on my emotional and mental health.
“I am no longer a prisoner of my mind, but a compassionate observer”
You do not need to have any prior experience to breathing or meditation. Come as you are and allow the journey to unfold. I am excited for you to dip your toes in this field of Somatic Breath & Meditation - I will disclose that it may just change your life!

Kayla Wills - BsSpExSci, EYT 300, Certified Trauma Informed
I (Kayla) am an experienced Somatic Yoga facilitator & degree qualified Sport & Exercise Scientist with 1000's of hours of continuing education and self applied research under my belt in alternative & holistic medicine. However, I find the best of what I share is what I have found works well not just for me, but those that I teach too. I have a strong passion for sharing breath and somatic based tools to support mental and emotional wellbeing. I like to think of these tools as a form of "self therapy" using your own body as your healer. I guide from a trauma-informed perspective ensuring you feel safe, seen, and validated.
I look forward to meeting you!
