Welcome my friend and thank you for being here!
I found yoga and mindfulness many years ago at High School. Back then I thought it was just an excuse to wear patterned tights, nail fancy poses, and get a sweat on. The truth of what yoga really is came to me after I became a mother when overwhelm, exhaustion, and a touch of postpartum depression were at the forefront of my being. Yoga guided me back to myself. It grounded me and highlighted that to take care of others started with taking care of myself. And so the journey began.
I facilitate Yoga sessions that primarily support one’s mental and emotional wellbeing from a bottom-up(body-based) therapeutic approach. They are gentle, accessible for everyone, and what my teachers and I like to call a type of “innercise” - a manifestation of resilience and balance from within. We work closely with the nervous system by using the body as a powerful messenger of safety, peace, stability, and nurture. When the brain believes you are safe and supported, your physiology responds in a positive way. Thereby building your capacity to deal with modern life. Every class is carefully guided through a trauma-informed lens to create a compassionate and safe space for people from all walks of life.
My classes are an infusion of Restorative & Yin Yoga, applied poly-vagal theory, neuroscience, movement science, Traditional Chinese Medicine, psychosomatics, and Traditional Yogic Philosophy. The primary intention for every class I teach is to support you to build loving awareness (opposed to shameful awareness), create a resilient nervous system, and deepen your connection with mind, body, and breath. And most importantly, hold a nurturing and supportive space that provides you with the foundation to connect to your inner source of wisdom and become your own medicine..
